Job summary

CQUniversity Rockhampton is seeking a Senior Safety and Wellbeing Adviser to drive positive safety outcomes and cultivate a healthy work environment for staff and students. You will provide expert safety guidance, support risk management, audits, and incident investigations, while delivering training and contributing to the Safety Management System.

Applicants with strong relationship-building and a focus on safety culture are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of industry practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience interpreting legislation and advising on policies and procedures.
• Experience in risk management frameworks for high-risk environments.
• Experience providing health, safety and psychosocial guidance to management and staff.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert safety, health and wellbeing advice to management, staff and students.
• Support risk management, workplace audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Develop and deliver safety training and support Workplace Rehabilitation.
• Contribute to Safety Management System improvements and compliance activities.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support crisis management.
