Job summary

Iress is seeking a Risk Business Partner to join the Group Risk team in Sydney (preferred) or Melbourne. You will partner with senior leaders, lead the risk agenda for your business unit, and provide clear risk insights across governance forums.

Based in Sydney or Melbourne, this role emphasizes embedding risk practices, incident management, and alignment with Iress’ risk appetite. A pragmatic, commercial approach will support growth and resilience.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience partnering with senior business leaders in a risk role, ideally in software, fintech or technology.
• Strong knowledge of IT risk frameworks and terminology to guide risk agenda.
• Experience embedding risk frameworks, policies and monitoring processes.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with executives and senior leaders, and communicate risk health clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for risk reports and governance.
• Strong collaboration, stakeholder engagement and project management abilities.
• Experience in a global, matrix structure is advantageous.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM or CISSP are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise Leadership Team and extended leadership on risk and act as primary risk SME for the business.
• Identify, assess and manage business unit risks and maintain risk profile in Iress GRC system.
• Provide timely, decision-useful risk reporting, insights and analysis to leaders and governance forums.
• Support control owners to design, test and review controls via Control Self-Assessment activities.
• Embed incident and breach management requirements and support remediation actions.
• Identify and communicate emerging and strategic risks, monitor regulatory obligations and audit actions.
• Lead risk aspects of strategic initiatives and transformation, including business continuity and cyber risk.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements of the Risk Management Framework and governance.
