Job summary

Softtest Pays Pty in Australia seeks an experienced Radio Frequency Engineer to design, implement and support RF systems for telecommunications and data centers. You will work with DFAT officers, contribute to scoping, testing and integration, and ensure compliance with standards.

This role requires hands-on RF device work, strong documentation, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams across sites. NV1 clearance or upgrade capability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive RF theory and practical knowledge of RF systems design and RF equipment operation.
• Experience implementing RF (UHF, VHF, HF) and microwave systems from design to support.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to lead small to medium cross-functional teams.
• Ability to prepare technical documents including design reports, test procedures, and performance analyses.
• NV1 security clearance or ability to upgrade beyond NV1.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assist with DFAT RF solutions including fault resolution, requirement gathering, capability and solution design, installation and integration.
• Scope, design, set up, tuning/calibration and checks of RF devices and software, maintain schedules, test equipment use, integrate hardware/firmware changes.
• Investigate and resolve system-wide faults using diagnostics; reconfigure equipment to handle outages; define and integrate RF devices and internal communication protocols.
