Job summary

Westgold Resources in Western Australia is seeking a Senior Resource Definition Geologist to drive resource growth, lead near-mine exploration, and provide technical leadership to a high-performing team across multiple sites.

You will manage drilling campaigns, ensure geologic data integrity, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver exploration objectives and value to the operation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Geology.
• Significant resource definition, mine geology and brownfields exploration experience in gold mining.
• Experience mentoring geologists and technical teams.
• Strong QAQC, data management and resource model integrity skills.
• Proficiency with Leapfrog, Surpac, GIS and 3D modelling software.

Responsibilities

• Lead resource definition and near-mine exploration programs to grow and upgrade Mineral Resources.
• Identify, prioritise and evaluate geological targets using drilling data and datasets.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to geologists, field teams and contractors.
• Manage drilling campaigns, ensuring safety, efficiency and budget alignment.
• Maintain data quality and QA/QC standards for resource models.
• Oversee budgets, reporting and stakeholder relationships to achieve exploration objectives.
