Job summary

Octopus Australia in Sydney is seeking a senior Asset Manager to lead a growing portfolio of wind, solar and storage assets. You will drive operational performance, embed data-driven decision making, and implement scalable systems across multiple sites while partnering with finance, governance and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in Australia – visa sponsorship is not offered.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience managing portfolios of multiple renewable energy assets across wind, solar and/or battery storage technologies.
• Proven ability to implement scalable systems, processes and operating models within a growing business.
• Prior experience working on renewable energy projects with a strong preference for Australian projects connected to the NEM.
• Candidates should have a tertiary qualification in project management, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Contract and project management skills demonstrated by high organisation and diligence.
• Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental practices and regulations.
• Knowledge of Compliance requirements across a NEM operating asset.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management with commercial mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Asset Managers and technical specialists across a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets.
• Promote a culture of compliance focused on health, safety, and environment.
• Work with community and stakeholder engagement manager to develop engagement strategies.
• Oversee the technical and commercial performance of wind, solar and battery assets and drive improvements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to resolve performance issues with urgency and accountability.
• Build relationships with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and project stakeholders.
• Ensure timely delivery of services under Asset Management, O&M and 3rd party contracts.
• Prepare and run tender processes for 3rd party contracts.
• Help manage yearly Opex budgets and reporting.
• Create and implement bespoke asset performance opportunities and reporting with insights.
• Drive asset management systems, reporting tools and AI-enabled processes.
• Develop data-driven performance frameworks to support informed decisions.
