Job summary

Beacon Legal in Melbourne is expanding and seeks a Senior Recruitment Consultant to specialise in the boutique law firm market. You will recruit lawyers for boutique and specialist firms across Melbourne, building relationships with Partners, Practice Leaders and senior legal professionals.

You'll manage end-to-end recruitment: taking briefs, sourcing candidates, posting ads, headhunting, interviewing, shortlisting, negotiating salaries, and PSA compliance.

Qualifications

• Senior Recruitment Consultant with at least 2 years' experience in the legal recruitment sector in Australia.
• Proven track record recruiting lawyers into boutique and specialist law firms in Melbourne.
• Strong understanding of Melbourne's boutique law firm landscape, including relevant firms and practice areas.
• Established relationships with boutique law firm Partners, Practice Leaders and legal professionals in Melbourne.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and willing to learn; strong networking and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Take job briefs from Partners and Practice Leaders and attend client meetings.
• Source candidates through databases and online platforms; write and monitor job advertisements.
• Head-hunt lawyers via warm and cold calls; interview and qualify candidates.
• Match candidates to client briefs; manage candidate care and scheduling of interviews.
• Prepare resumes and candidate profiles; adhere to client processes and PSA requirements.
• Negotiate salary packages and conduct reference checks as required.
• Maintain accurate records in Beacon Legal's recruitment database (JobAdder).
• Assist with induction and training of new team members; contribute articles for Beacon Legal's website and social channels.

Role

Due to continued growth, we’re looking to hire a motivated and driven individual to join our team as a Senior Recruitment Consultant, specialising in the boutique law firm market in Melbourne.

The role will focus exclusively on recruiting lawyers into boutique and specialist law firms across Melbourne, developing relationships with law firm Partners, Practice Leaders and senior legal professionals.

This opportunity has arisen due to the continued development of Melbourne's boutique legal market and Beacon Legal's commitment to expanding its recruitment capabilities within this specialist sector.

The role will see you being responsible for all aspects of recruitment within Melbourne's boutique law firm market, including taking job briefs from law firm Partners and Practice Leaders, attending client meetings, sourcing candidates through databases and online platforms, writing, posting and monitoring job advertisements on job boards and LinkedIn, headhunting lawyers through warm and cold calls, interviewing candidates to qualify their skills and suitability for positions, selecting and matching candidates with client job briefs, prioritising candidate care and management (including arranging interviews), formatting candidate resumes and preparing candidate profiles for submission, adhering to client processes and PSA requirements, negotiating salary packages and conducting reference checks as required.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with boutique and specialist law firms across Melbourne, building an in-depth understanding of their practice areas, recruitment requirements and organisational structures.

You will continue to develop relationships with relevant candidates and clients, fostering positive, productive and long-term referral networks within Melbourne's boutique legal sector.

You will also maintain accurate candidate and client records in Beacon Legal's recruitment database (JobAdder), assist with the induction and training of new team members, and contribute regular articles and updates for Beacon Legal's website, social media and LinkedIn.

Requirements

A Senior Recruitment Consultant with at least 2 years' experience in the legal recruitment sector in Australia;

A demonstrated track record of recruiting lawyers into boutique and specialist law firms in Melbourne;

A strong understanding of Melbourne's boutique law firm landscape, including relevant firms, practice areas and legal talent pools;

Established relationships with boutique law firm Partners, Practice Leaders and legal professionals in Melbourne;

Enthusiastic and willing to learn;

Comfortable with business development, including cold-calling, organising and attending networking events, particularly within Melbourne's boutique law firm sector;

Organised and capable of managing your time effectively;

Resilient, empathetic and possessing strong interpersonal skills;

Self-motivated and hard-working;
