Job summary

Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation QLD in Maryborough is seeking a role to drive protection of biodiversity and support pest management programs.

You will work with operational units, stakeholders including First Nations partners, and contribute to management planning and reporting.

• Ability to guide and support core programs including pest management and health check programs.
• Strong communications skills and the ability to support operational units deliver desired outcomes.
• Ability to build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders including First Nations partners.
• Ability to interpret and implement department policy and legislative requirements to ensure pest, firearms, restricted poisons, general biosecurity obligations and biodiversity matters are met.
• High level writing and data presentation skills to contribute to management planning and the development of key thematic strategies.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a geographically dispersed team.
• Strong initiative, problem solving and resolution skills.
• Project management fundamentals including planning, reporting and budgets in liaison with relative units.
• Mapping and data collection skills (desirable, not mandatory).
• Willingness to listen, learn and participate.
