Job summary

Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation is seeking a Ranger (Pest and Biodiversity) to shape pest management and biodiversity outcomes across South East Queensland. You will coordinate regional programs, provide technical advice, and collaborate with partners to deliver conservation results.

The role focuses on project coordination, stakeholder engagement and regional program delivery, with opportunities to influence strategies and innovate in environmental management.

Qualifications

• Experience in pest management, including weed and pest animal management and strategic planning.
• Demonstrated ability to apply natural resource management principles to achieve conservation outcomes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence, build networks and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience supporting projects, programs and operational teams to deliver environmental outcomes.
• Well-developed computer skills, including the Microsoft suite.
• GIS skills will be highly regarded.

Join our regional Pest and Biodiversity team and help shape strategic pest management and conservation outcomes across South East Queensland.

As a Ranger (Pest and Biodiversity), you will contribute to the strategic management of pests and biodiversity across South East Queensland's parks and forests. Working within the Technical Support Pest and Biodiversity team, you will help- coordinate regional programs, provide technical advice, support operational teams, and collaborate with key partners to deliver positive environmental outcomes.

As a Ranger (Pest and Biodiversity), you will contribute to the delivery of strategic pest and biodiversity programs across South East Queensland. This role provides an opportunity to influence conservation outcomes across a diverse landscape while supporting effective management of the region's parks and forests.

Working within the Technical Services Pest and Biodiversity team, you will:

• Support the planning and coordination of priority pest and biodiversity management projects.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to operational teams across the region.
• Contribute to regional pest management strategies, programs and initiatives.
• Build strong partnerships with local governments, natural resource management organisations, First Nations Partners and other stakeholders
• Help drive continuous improvement and innovation in pest and biodiversity management practices.

The role supports operations across throughout South East Queensland and works closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve regional conservation outcomes.

Please note: This is not a field-based Ranger position. It is a regional technical services role focused on project coordination, technical support, stakeholder engagement and conservation outcomes. This recruitment may be used for other AO4 Rangers that may become vacant – if you have an interest in other areas (Estate Management and Permits) we encourage you to apply.
