Job summary

Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation – Samford QLD is seeking a motivated Ranger passionate about conservation. You will contribute to protecting Queensland's national parks, state forests and reserves, working in partnership with local communities and stakeholders to deliver land management and conservation outcomes.

The role is part of the South East Queensland Region, collaborating with Rangers, contractors and partners to achieve positive environmental outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire management, pest, compliance and asset management.
• Demonstrated experience leading small teams.

Our rangers ensure that the Queensland's national parks, state forests and reserves are protected, accessible and valued by all Queenslanders. We work in partnership. with local communities and other stakeholders to contribute to the land management, recreational and conservation outcomes across the protected areas.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service has an exciting opportunity available for you to become part of a collaborative team helping to conserve and maintain the network of national and conservation parks of North Brisbane. As rangers within the South East Queensland Region you will work with other Rangers, contractors and a range of partners and stakeholders in delivering positive outcomes for the environment and community.

The only mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position is to hold an unrestricted manual driver's license, however the ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in fire management, pest, compliance and asset management.
• Demonstrated experience leading small teams.
• Sound understanding of the legislation, policies and procedures governing Queensland parks and forests.
• Ability to undertake a varied work program, including physical activities.
