Job summary

Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation QLD – Maroochydore QLD seeks a capable practitioner to drive pest management and biodiversity protection within our diverse natural environment.

You will collaborate with operational units, engage with First Nations partners, interpret policy requirements, and contribute to management planning with strong writing and data skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to guide and support core programs including pest management and health check programs.
• Strong communications skills and the ability to support operational units deliver desired outcomes.
• Ability to build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders including pest management, management planning, and engagement with First Nations partners.
• Ability to interpret and implement department policy and legislative requirements to ensure pest, firearms, restricted poisons, general biosecurity obligations and biodiversity matters are met.
• High level writing and data presentation skills to contribute to management planning and the development of key thematic strategies.
