Job summary

Agilent Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive innovation in spectroscopy product development. You will work within a design team or independently on designs, prototypes, and testing, contributing to concept generation and production transfer.

The role requires hands-on prototyping, strong CAD/CAE skills (Siemens NX) and experience with GD&T, FEA/CFD, PMI, and manufacturing processes. Occasional travel and collaboration across functions are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• 5+ years R&D experience in high-tech product development.
• Experience with sheet metal, injection molding, and casting.
• 3D CAD/CAE with Siemens NX; FEA/CFD/FMEA experience.
• Hands-on prototyping and rapid fabrication (3D printing).

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering input for research, design and development of spectroscopy products.
• Generate concept ideas, create designs, simulations, data analysis, and build prototypes.
• Refine the design to meet product specifications and transfer to production.
• Create, test and implement solutions for minor improvements of existing products.
• Identify risks (technical and commercial) and mitigate within project teams.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to turn ideas into commercial products.
