Job summary

MBB Consulting Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior Contracts Administrator to join our Sydney team. The role focuses on commercial and cost management across infrastructure and development projects, with emphasis on procurement, tendering, and contract administration.

You will work in a flexible, collaborative environment with access to senior leadership and a supportive Melbourne team, delivering high-quality commercial advice and project support from Sydney, NSW.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline).
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Proficiency in procurement and cost management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Managing procurement and tendering processes.
• Compiling, assessing, and negotiating submitted tenders, and providing advice on commercial and contractual clarifications.
• Administering head contracts and subcontracts (time, cost, quality, notices).
• Assessing payment claims.
• Preparing cost and revenue forecasts.
• Quantifying and costing construction works.
• Preparing and assessing progress claims.
• Managing variations and change management processes.
• Drafting commercially astute correspondence and reports.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants to ensure effective project delivery.
• Reviewing project records, notices, and evidence for contractual analysis.
• Providing clients with accurate and honest appraisals of their commercial position.

As we continue to expand our presence nationally, we are offering an opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior Contract Administrator to join our Sydney team.

The Role

You will play a key role in providing commercial and cost management support across a variety of projects.

Please note, this role will be based in Sydney, NSW.

This role will involve a broad range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Managing procurement and tendering processes.

Compiling, assessing, and negotiating submitted tenders, and providing advice on commercial and contractual clarifications.
