Job summary

Kappa Executive Search is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Sydney to take ownership of diverse projects within a growing cost and commercial advisory consultancy. The role offers direct client exposure, mentorship of junior QS, and a path toward Associate level with a mix of traditional QS work and advisory services.

You'll lead cost planning, procurement, tendering and reporting across pre and post contract stages, while developing risk insight and strategic decision-making for projects.

Qualifications

• Strong Quantity Surveying experience within a cost consultancy environment.
• Experience across pre and post contract cost management.
• Experience on health and/or education projects.
• Cost planning, estimating and commercial management capability.
• Confident in managing projects and client/stakeholder relations.
• Ability to mentor junior Quantity Surveyors.
• Interest in blending cost management with commercial advisory work.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline; AIQS/RICS accreditation pursued.
• Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of projects across pre and post contract stages, delivering cost and commercial guidance from planning through completion.
• Manage key deliverables including cost planning, estimating, procurement, tendering, reporting, forecasting, variations and progress claims with clients and consultants.
• Gain exposure to broader commercial advisory work and develop understanding of risk and strategy for project outcomes.
• Mentor junior team members, manage client relationships and contribute beyond individual project workload toward Associate-level progression.
