Cozens Mabel – Procurement and Supply Chain Recruitment Specialists in Botany NSW is assisting a privately owned Australian wholesale distributor to recruit an experienced Senior Purchasing Officer. Reporting to the NSW Purchasing Manager, you will manage end-to-end purchasing, stock replenishment and supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, lead times, ERP data entry (Pronto) and continuous improvement with internal teams.

Qualifications

• This role requires experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory management within wholesale distribution, FMCG, hospitality supplies or similar.
• Strong understanding of stock replenishment, inventory planning and supplier management.
• Proficient with ERP systems (Pronto preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end purchasing, purchase orders and stock replenishment.
• Monitoring inventory levels, sales demand and supplier lead times.
• Building strong supplier relationships and reviewing pricing.
• Resolving supply issues and supporting forecasting and planning.
• Maintaining purchasing and supplier data in the ERP system.
• Collaborating with internal teams to improve operations.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the NSW Purchasing Manager, you will join an experienced team and take responsibility for a broad range of purchasing, inventory and supplier management activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing end-to-end purchasing, purchase orders and stock replenishment.
• Monitoring inventory levels, sales demand and supplier lead times.
• Building strong supplier relationships, reviewing pricing and resolving supply issues.
• Supporting inventory forecasting, planning and customer projects.
• Maintaining accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP system.
• Working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and identify opportunities for improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong purchasing background who enjoys working in a busy commercial environment and is keen to take on more responsibility.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory management within wholesale distribution, FMCG, hospitality supplies or a similar environment. Other industries will be considered.
• A good understanding of stock replenishment, inventory planning and supplier management.
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally Pronto, and good Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive, positive approach and the ability to build strong working relationships.
