Job summary

The Reserve Bank of Australia, based in Sydney's CBD, seeks an experienced project risk leader to head the Project Risk and Oversight team within its second line of accountability. This is a five-year fixed-term appointment reporting to the Deputy Head, Business Risk Oversight, with responsibility for independent review, challenge and insight across the Bank's major projects and transformation programs.

Qualifications

• Extensive track record leading risk, assurance or transformation initiatives.
• Ability to influence executives and senior delivery leaders with clear messages.
• Strong governance, risk management and control framework knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent Line 2 oversight of major projects and transformation initiatives.
• Maintain a clear, risk-based approach for determining where Line 2 oversight adds value.
• Provide independent advice and constructive challenge to executives and governance committees.
• Assess whether status and delivery confidence are evidenced across scope, schedule, cost, resourcing, dependencies and readiness.
• Identify emerging risks, control weaknesses and systemic themes across the portfolio.
• Lead reviews, deep dives and other Line 2 activities at critical decision points.
• Influence improvements to project governance, risk management and escalation.
