Job summary

Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Senior Project Officers to support ICT project delivery within an Australian Government agency. You will work with Project Managers and project teams to keep plans, records, reporting and project controls accurate and up to date.

The role covers project planning, status reporting, risk and issue management and meeting coordination. Onsite in Canberra, you will collaborate with governance bodies and procurement activities as required.

Qualifications

• Senior project officer or project support experience on ICT projects in government.
• Experience developing and maintaining project plans and schedules.
• Experience preparing status reports covering budget, schedule, risks and issues.
• Experience maintaining risk, issue and change control registers.
• Experience coordinating governance and reference group meetings, including briefing packs and minutes.
• Documenting procedures and maintaining project records to agency standards.
• Applying project management methods and quality standards across the project lifecycle.
• Strong written communication and stakeholder liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project plans with the Project Manager and project team.
• Coordinate production of project status reports, including budget and schedule.
• Maintain risk and issue registers and change control records.
• Define and document project procedures in line with the agreed methodology.
• Coordinate reference group meetings, including invitations, briefing packs, minutes and actions.
• Liaise with other project teams to confirm accurate status reporting.
• Advise project team members on project procedures and reporting standards.
• Support procurement activities as required by the project.
• Provide administrative and process support to the project team.
• Share knowledge and guide less experienced team members.

• Set up and maintain project document management, record keeping and reporting systems
• Coordinate the production of project status reports, including budget and schedule
• Maintain risk and issue registers and change control records
• Define and document project procedures in line with the agreed methodology
• Coordinate reference group meetings, including invitations, briefing packs, minutes and actions
• Liaise with other project teams to confirm accurate status reporting

Required Experience

• Senior project officer or project support experience on ICT projects in government

Desirable Experience

• PRINCE2, PMP or similar project management certification
• Experience in a PMO, program or portfolio office
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SharePoint and government records management systems
• Experience with Commonwealth procurement processes
• Experience in national security or justice sector agencies

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must have the ability to obtain an AFP Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance
