Job summary

Babylon Data Pty Ltd is recruiting four experienced Senior Project Officers (APS6 equivalent) to support the Australian Federal Police in delivering critical ICT projects and technology initiatives. These roles focus on technology modernisation, governance and delivery within a major Commonwealth agency.

Role requires NV1 eligibility; onsite work with AFP approval. 36-month contracts start 1 February 2027, with potential extensions. Rates range from $100–$120 per hour, including superannuation.

Qualifications

• Senior project support or PMO experience in ICT projects.
• Strong understanding of ICT project delivery and governance.
• Experience maintaining plans, RAID, budgets and reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
• Experience with procurement, project assurance and quality control.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Familiar with PRINCE2, Agile or MSP methodologies.
• Previous Australian Government experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support ICT project managers with planning, scheduling, coordination and delivery.
• Maintain project documentation, registers, governance records and reporting.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, milestones, risks, issues and changes.
• Prepare project status reports, briefing packs and stakeholder communications.
• Coordinate governance forums, reference groups and project meetings.
• Support procurement activities and project administration.
• Apply established project management methodologies and quality standards.
• Liaise with stakeholders and other project teams to ensure accurate reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve project governance and delivery processes.
• Mentor junior staff and support knowledge transfer.

Babylon Data is recruiting four experienced Senior Project Officers (APS6 equivalent) to support the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in delivering critical ICT projects and technology initiatives.

These positions offer an opportunity to contribute to technology modernisation, project governance and delivery within a major Commonwealth law enforcement agency.

• Client: Australian Federal Police
• Contract: 36 months, with potential extensions of up to 12 months
• Commencement: 1 February 2027
• Work arrangements: Primarily onsite; flexibility subject to AFP approval
• Security: Must be eligible to obtain NV1 clearance; existing clearance highly regarded
• Rate: $100–$120 per hour, including superannuation

• Experience supporting procurement, project assurance and quality management.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with PRINCE2, Agile, MSP or equivalent methodologies.
• Previous Australian Government experience highly regarded.
