Job summary

Pinpoint Talent, LLC is recruiting an experienced APS6 Senior Project Officer for a Federal Government Agency on an initial 12-month contract. You can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Canberra with hybrid work requiring 1-2 days in the office each week.

The role supports the Senior Project Manager by coordinating activities across end-to-end delivery of large systems projects, including modernisation and transformation initiatives with complex dependencies.

Qualifications

• Ability to acquire, maintain and apply knowledge of the project and operations management framework, methodologies and activities required to coordinate and support project and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in providing a high level of support to project managers to develop and maintain project risk and issue registers; identifying and reporting variances and issues.
• Ability to coordinate and provide support to monitor, track and report on the status of project, program deliverables to ensure schedules, cost and quality metrics are in line with approved project plans.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced APS6 Senior Project Officer for a Federal Government Agency, on an initial 12-month contract. You can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Canberra and they offer hybrid working with 1-2 days in the office per week.

In this role you will work alongside the Senior Project Manager to support, co-ordinate and enable project activities in the end-to-end delivery of large systems delivery projects. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience working on the delivery of technical projects for complex systems, solutions and modernisation, enhancement and transformation projects with many complex dependencies.

Required skills and experience

• Ability to acquire, maintain and apply an in-depth knowledge of the project and operations management framework, methodologies and activities required to coordinate and support project and reporting requirements and provide advice on project related activities including consultation, planning, schedules, reporting, change control, and administrative and logistical support
• Demonstrated experience in providing a high level of support to project managers to develop and maintain project risk and issue registers; identifying and reporting variances and issues; aid and coordination for risk mitigation, response and treatment actions.
• Ability to coordinate and provide support to monitor, track and report on the status of project, program deliverables to ensure schedules, cost and quality metrics are in line with approved project plans.
