Job summary

Amida Recruitment is assisting a Sydney-based Tier 2 contractor to appoint an experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager. The role focuses on delivering Industrial, Defence and Commercial projects with strong commercial and design management oversight.

You will lead programmes, manage subcontractors, monitor HSEQ compliance and provide clear progress reporting to clients. An Engineering/CM degree and 5–15+ years of delivery experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
• 5–15+ years of project delivery experience, ideally from Tier 1/2 backgrounds.
• Proven leadership in building and motivating teams to deliver high-quality projects.
• Experience delivering greenfield projects and managing design aspects.
• Knowledge of local council/regulatory requirements and standards.
• Strong planning and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; Construction Safety Induction (White Card) required.

Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to team.
• Project delivery from inception through to completion.
• Ensure construction programmes are followed and deliver on quality to programme.
• Identify and manage construction risk and escalate issues as needed.
• Manage project expenditure and cash flow.
• Oversee external engineering design aspects of projects.
• Design management and coordination.
• Manage subcontractors on site.
• Maintain HSEQ requirements on the project.

A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experiencedProject Manager or Senior Project Managerto join their growing business in Sydney.

Projects in the business are generally Industrial, Defence or Commercial in nature, experience with similar projects in these sectors will be an advantage.

AsProject Manager,you will need to have strong commercial acumen, contracts management, design management, OHS, programming / planning experience as well as running meetings with consultants and subcontractors to provide a high quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
• Minimum 5 - 15 years+ experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish ideally from a Tier 1 or 2 background
• Proven leadership ability in building and motivating teams to deliver high quality projects
• Previous experience delivering greenfield projects
• Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements / standards
• Strong planning and project financial reporting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Construction Safety Induction (white) card
