Job summary

Amida Group is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager to join its growing construction team on site near Maitland, NSW. The role offers exposure to SMP, Piping, Civil and Infrastructure projects with a strong pipeline and progression opportunities.

Successful candidates will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, plus solid planning, commercial acumen, and exceptional communication skills.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 5 years+ experience in a similar role.
• Understanding of Risk Management.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a clear Police Check.
• Driver Licence.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite & MS Project.
• Knowledge of planning software.
• HSEQ compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble scope of works and tender documentation.
• Conduct site visits to remote and interstate sites.
• Perform commercial, risk and profitability reviews.
• Provide detailed tender handover documentation.
• Create pricing models for bids and projects.
• Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to team.
• Deliver projects from inception to completion.
• Ensure construction programmes are followed and quality on time.
• Identify and manage construction risk, escalate issues.
• Manage project expenditure and cash flow.
• Oversee external engineering design aspects and design management.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors on site.
• Maintain HSEQ requirements and produce progress reports.
• Deliver client expectations and maintain stakeholder satisfaction.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

• Assemble scope of works and request for tender documentation

• Project delivery from inception through to completion
• Ensure construction programmes are followed & deliver on project quality to programme
• Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
• Manage project expenditure and cash flow
• Management and achievement of external engineering design aspects of projects
• Design management
• Manage subcontractors on site
• Manage and maintain HSEQ requirements on the project
• Produce progress reports
• Deliver and manage client expectations

Qualifications and Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or similar
• Minimum 5 years+ experience in a similar role
• Understanding of Risk Management
• A strong commercial acumen
• Ability to work part of a team as well as autonomously
• High level of organisation and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite & MS Project
• Knowledge of planning software
• Construction Safety Induction (white/blue) card
• Driver Licence
• Ability to obtain a clear Police Check
