Synergie Australia is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Major Projects for two active infrastructure projects in Western Sydney. The role covers day-to-day delivery, scope and schedule management, cost forecasting, and contractor oversight during a hands-on, live operations period.

The position runs from December 2026 to June 2027, with a structured handover before project ownership commences in February 2027.

• Coordinate design, construction, operational readiness, commissioning and handover activities.
• Maintain accurate project reporting, forecasts, risk registers and action tracking.
• Work closely with operations, engineering, procurement, finance and HSE stakeholders.

Synergie Australia is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Major Projects for a trusted client with project sites in Western Sydney.

The important parts:

• Pay: $160–$180 per hour, flat rate
• Duration:December 2026 - June 2027 (parental leave cover)
• Location: Western Sydney with regular site attendance
• Start date: December 2026 to enable a structured handover before project ownership commences in February 2027

What you will be required to do:

You’ll lead two major infrastructure projects through active delivery, providing continuity during a parental leave period. This is a hands‑on senior role managing competing priorities, contractors, project controls and operational interfaces across live industrial sites.

• Taking ownership of day-to-day delivery across two active major projects
• Managing scope, schedules, cost forecasts, risks, issues and change controls
• Driving progress against agreed milestones and resolving emerging constraints
• Managing contractors, consultants and suppliers, including variations, claims and commercial matters
• Coordinating design, construction, operational readiness, commissioning and handover activities
• Maintaining accurate project reporting, forecasts, risk registers and action tracking
• Working closely with operations, engineering, procurement, finance and HSE stakeholders

To be successful in the role you will:

• Significant experience delivering complex engineering, infrastructure or industrial capital projects
• Proven ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently
• Strong contractor management, contract administration and commercial capability
• Experience delivering brownfield projects in live operational environments
• Strong project controls capability across scheduling, forecasting, change and risk
• The ability to take over projects already in progress and quickly build effective relationships
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
• Experience in wastewater treatment, waste management, chemical processing or similar industrial environments is highly regarded
