Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of commercial solar projects from 100kW to MW scale. You will own site planning, design sign-off, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, compliance, on-time delivery and budget adherence.

You will oversee safe design practices, manage diverse teams of engineers and subcontractors, and maintain open communication with clients and suppliers across multiple concurrent projects in Australia.

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience on solar projects (100kW upwards to MW scale).
• CEC accreditation for grid-connected design is required.
• Strong understanding of the electricity industry and PV systems.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Oversee HSE requirements across project delivery, embedding safe design, procurement, construction and commissioning practices.
• Design and delivery: Create, review and sign off site plans, single line diagrams and monitoring schematics; manage installation, electrical work, lifting, commissioning and monitoring of PV systems.
• Approvals and compliance: Complete grid connection applications, structural assessments and local council requirements to relevant Australian standards.
• Procurement and logistics: Manage stock procurement and coordinate logistics to keep projects on schedule.
• Stakeholder management: Manage client expectations and maintain transparent communication with stakeholders, contractors and suppliers.
• Team management: Oversee project engineers and subcontractors across design, installation and commissioning tasks.
• Quality: Ensure all work meets company standards, Australian Standards and industry best practice.
• Reporting: Track project progress, budget and risk, escalate issues to keep multiple projects on track.

Job description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management and delivery of a portfolio of commercial solar projects, ranging from 100kW to MW scale projects. The role carries single-point accountability for project outcomes, from site planning and design sign-off through procurement, construction, commissioning and client handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety: Oversee all HSE requirements across project delivery, embedding safe design, procurement, construction and commissioning practices.

Skills Required

• Sound understanding of the electricity industry and photovoltaic systems.
• CEC accreditation for design of grid connected systems.
• Proven project management experience on projects from 100kW upwards, including MW-scale delivery.
• Experience with both rooftop and ground mount systems.
• Independent thinker, able to identify procedural and technical issues and propose workable solutions.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent stakeholder relationship management and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
