Dematic is at the forefront of warehouse automation, delivering complex AMHS projects across Australia. We seek a Senior Project Manager to oversee the lifecycle of large-scale installations, leading cross-functional teams in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex engineering, automation, or MHS projects.
• Background in MHS, warehouse automation, FMCG, high-speed packaging, or integrated engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery phase from contract review to final handover.
• Review contracts to define scope, milestones, and deliverables.
• Lead development and management of integrated project schedules (critical path focus).
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders on scope and execution strategy.
• Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial performance.
• Identify and manage unallocated costs, variations, and commercial risks.
• Drive procurement, supplier commitments, and supply chain performance.
• Oversee subcontractor engagement and invoicing sign-off.
• Lead risk management, change management, and issue resolution.
• Manage delays, scope changes, and extensions of time.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and customer acceptance testing.
• Act as the client-facing lead to manage expectations.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of highly complex, large-scale warehouse automation and material handling system (MHS) projects. Based in Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane , you will play a key role in delivering strategically critical projects for major clients across NSW, VIC, and QLD.

Operating in a fast-paced, technically sophisticated environment, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, working with advanced automation technologies and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you will take full ownership of the project lifecycle, from contract award through to commissioning, customer acceptance, and final handover.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

You will play a critical role in ensuring successful project delivery, including:

• Full ownership of the project delivery phase, from contract review through to final handover
• Reviewing contracts to define scope, milestones, and key deliverables
• Leading development and management of integrated project schedules (critical path focus)
• Bringing together internal and external stakeholders to align on scope of works and execution strategy
• Managing project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial performance
• Identifying and managing unallocated costs, variations, and commercial risks
• Driving procurement, supplier commitments, and project supply chain performance
• Overseeing subcontractor engagement, performance, and sign-off for invoicing
• Leading risk management, change management, and issue resolution
• Managing project challenges including delays, scope changes, and extensions of time
• Supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, and customer acceptance testing
• Acting as the key client-facing lead, ensuring expectations are managed and met

Tasks and Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex engineering, automation, or MHS projects
• Background in MHS, warehouse automation, FMCG, high-speed packaging, or integrated engineering environments
• Strong understanding of system layouts, design intent, and integration complexity
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environments
• Solid commercial acumen across contracts, budgets, variations, and cost control
• Proficiency with project planning tools (MS Project or similar PM software)
• Ability to interpret AutoCAD layouts and system designs
• Strong reporting, communication, and stakeholder presentation skills
• Willingness to travel to customer sites locally and interstate
