Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Townsville, Australia, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead large multi-disciplinary teams on complex real estate, infrastructure and education projects. You will develop strong client relationships, manage timelines and budgets, and drive projects to successful completion.

The role requires a technical degree, PMP-style experience, advanced Microsoft tools and Primavera proficiency, plus excellent written and spoken English.

Qualifications

  • A recognised degree relating to a technical field: Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or Architecture.
  • Experience in government, hospitals/health, commercial or education projects.
  • Project management experience delivering highly complex and technical projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills are essential and Primavera skills will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English with excellent report and bid writing skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your clients.

Responsibilities

  • Managing larger multi-disciplinary teams delivering complex projects and programs.
  • Developing working relationships, problem solving and driving projects to successful completion.
  • Proactively managing the design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations.
  • Responsible for preparation of project management plans, programs, budgets and other key project deliverables.
  • Reviewing project plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc.
  • Managing project timelines, risks and reporting.
  • Managing internal project administration including invoicing, variations, subconsultant management and contract risk.
