Turner & Townsend in Sydney seeks a Senior Project Manager - Development to strengthen our Infrastructure team. You will lead project development, stakeholder coordination, procurement, approvals, and contract management for complex delivery across aviation, water, transport, energy and civil infrastructure.

The role requires extensive experience in multi-disciplinary projects, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to risk, quality and cost control in dynamic client environments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management or delivery roles.
  • Experience in building construction is ideal and Australian standards knowledge.
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects from design through close-out.
  • Experience managing multi-functional projects financially and leading a team.
  • Experience in dynamic customer-centric organisations and various delivery environments.

Responsibilities

  • Project development including scoping, business case development and funding.
  • Stakeholder coordination and liaison to capture issues affecting outcomes.
  • Procurement coordination: contracts, tenders, bid analysis and awards.
  • Approvals and planning with the wider project team.
  • Contract management and payments, change control.
  • Construction management and site supervision with consultants and safety teams.
  • Risk and issues management with mitigations.
  • Quality assurance across design and construction, and cost/time forecasting.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager - Development to strengthen our Infrastructure team in Sydney. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Project development – identifying scope of works / project requirements based on client needs including business case development and securing project funding
  • Stakeholder coordination – identification of stakeholders, liaison with all parties to capture all relevant issues, inputs and restrictions that may affect project outcomes.
  • Procurement Coordination - including contract drafting, tender preparations and management, bid analysis and contract awards for consultants and contractors
  • Approvals & Planning – Working with the wider project team to obtain the necessary approvals
  • Contract Management - Ensuring compliance with contract terms in delivery of the works for consultants and contractors, processing of payments, managing change.
  • Construction management – Control of the construction site management for the safe and compliant delivery of works in conjunction with consultants and safety advisors
  • Risk and issues management – Ensuring early identification of project risks and applying carefully considered mitigations to minimise occurrence of issues
  • Quality management – Through coordination of all parties to ensure adherence to expected quality for both the design and construction of the project
  • Cost and time management – Planning & forecasting project spend and delivery milestones
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Experience working in building construction ideal
  • Awareness of Australian building standards / codes
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects at various stages of delivery from design through to project close-out
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-functional projects both financially and leading a team of project managers
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced customer centric organisation
  • Experience in the development and delivery of projects in existing operational environments
  • Experience across a broad spectrum of disciplines (one or multiple):
    • Aviation
    • Water
    • Transport
    • Energy (Transmission and Renewable)
    • Civil infrastructure (earthworks and utilities)
