Job summary

Ocius Technology in Australia is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead acquisition, sustainment and operations for the Bluebottles fleet, including overseeing ongoing contracts with defence partners.

You will coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, travel to Auckland 2-3 times per quarter, and ensure deliverables, budgets and risk management are handled.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience managing large Australian or New Zealand defence projects with complex, multi-disciplinary technology components.
• Strong experience engaging with and managing senior customer stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and influence outcomes.
• Demonstrated capability managing varied project resources, including logistics, engineering, marine operations, and maintenance teams, in an Australian or New Zealand Defence context.
• Experience writing and presenting detailed project budgets and progress reports for Defence and government stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, including scheduling, dependencies, resource allocation, and reporting.
• Strong risk management awareness and ability to identify, elevate, and mitigate operational risks.
• Ability to travel periodically to Auckland (2-3 times per quarter)

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day deliverables are met, including new features, reporting and maintenance and production deadlines.
• Support the operations team to ensure Bluebottles remain on-mission.
• Partner with external stakeholders, provide updates and briefings both remote and onsite in Auckland.

Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). Our vessel's harness Wind, Solar and Wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.

We are under contracts with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will manage both acquisition, sustainment and operations for our next fleet of Bluebottles. As we begin to deliver to RNZN, the Project Manager will manage the current sutainment and operating contract, as well as ensure all deliverables are met for any and all Bluebottle acqusitions. The role will also be instrumental in negotiating new contracts and agreements

A typical day includes:

• Ensuring day-to-day deliverables are met, including new features, reporting and maintenance and production deadlines
