Job summary

Western Power is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex ICT and digital initiatives. You will manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, scheduling, governance, and controls, ensuring safety, schedule, cost, and quality targets are met across a portfolio of technology projects.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting and risk management, reporting to executives, and coordinating cross-functional teams and delivery partners to maximise value for Western

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience leading large and complex ICT, digital, or business transformation projects.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or related discipline; recognised credentials such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, RegPM, or PMI-PMP.

  • Lead delivery of complex ICT and digital initiatives, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and within budget.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance with transparent reporting to stakeholders.

We are seeking an experiencedSenior Project Managerto join our Digital Products team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the delivery of complex ICT and digital initiatives, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will be accountable for the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, scheduling, delivery, contract management, governance, and project controls. Working across a portfolio of high-profile technology projects, you will manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance while providing accurate and transparent reporting to stakeholders.

Your Role in Action
  • Lead the delivery of complex projects, ensuring agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety outcomes are achieved.
  • Manage projects with significant technological, commercial, operational, reputational, or safety risks that may have a material impact on Western Power and its stakeholders.
  • Deliver projects within a portfolio of strategic, high-profile technology initiatives that enable, support, and underpin Western Power's network assets and infrastructure.
  • Execute projects in accordance with Western Power's Project Management Methodology, governance framework, standards, and processes.
  • Manage and maintain project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting across both Capital (Capex) and Operational (Opex) expenditure.
  • Apply strong commercial acumen and sound business judgment to maximise value, manage risk, and align project outcomes with strategic objectives.
  • Provide proactive and ongoing status reporting to senior leaders and key stakeholders, ensuring accurate resource planning and project scheduling through Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management (EPPM) tools.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, suppliers, and delivery partners to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Foster a high-performance project environment through coaching, mentoring, and leadership of project team members.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Extensive experience leading large, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects and programs.
  • Demonstrated success delivering high-value projects in IT, digital transformation, business transformation, or asset-intensive industries.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or a related discipline, together with recognised project management credentials such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, RegPM, or PMI-PMP® certification.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior leaders across the organisation.
  • Proven ability to navigate complexity, manage competing priorities, mitigate risk, and consistently deliver results in fast-paced environments.
  • Highly developed financial and commercial acumen, including the ability to interpret financial reports and leverage project information management systems to support decision-making.
