Job summary

Western Power in Perth invites applications for a Project Manager to lead the delivery of projects from initiation to closure from the Perth CBD Office. The role focuses on delivering on scope, time, cost, safety and quality while managing stakeholder expectations in a dynamic environment.

Successful candidates will hold relevant project management accreditations (RegPM/PMI) and familar ity with PMBOK or Prince2 methodologies, with WA driving license required.

Qualifications

  • Significant demonstrated experience in project delivery across engineering, construction, or infrastructure.
  • Industry accreditation in project management (RegPM/PMI).
  • Experience using PM methodologies (PMBOK or Prince2) and engaging stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver projects within scope, time, cost and quality.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies across programmes.
  • Communicate progress to stakeholders and management with proactive reporting.

The Project Manager will be accountable for the overall delivery of projects to agreed criteria, within commercially competitive standards for safety, cost, timeliness, quality, and scope and to the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.The position will manage and deliver projects that are challenging but moderate in terms of complexity,visibilityand reputational impact.

We’re looking for a Project Manager to join us on a full-time basis at the Perth CBD Office.

Your Role in Action
  • Work with ambiguity in a dynamic environment; maintain a flexible approach in setting priorities and meeting targets
  • Delivering projects in a compliant way to agreed standards, scope, time and cost with competing demands on resources and business pressures
  • Actively managing project risks and issues in the projects to ensure successful delivery
  • Managing expectations with stakeholders, whilst building and motivating project teams in a challenging delivery environment
  • Delivering projects to the agreed scope, time and cost without compromising safety or quality
  • Execute all projects according to Western Powers Project Methodology, Standards, Processes and Governance framework
  • Ensure project financials are managed, maintained, forecasted and can be reported upon in terms of Capex and Opex
  • Report the status of the assigned projects pro-actively and on an ongoing basis to key stakeholders and Team Leader, and co-ordinate and manage the work of the project team through up-to-date resource plans and project schedules
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Relevant qualifications and/or significant demonstrated experience in project delivery, engineering, construction, business analysis, financial management, infrastructure, or a related field.
  • Industry accreditation in project management, RegPM / PMI
  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects utilising industry standard project methodology such as PMBOK or Prince 2
  • Ability to professionally engage stakeholders, both written and verbal, including presenting project progress to management
  • Self-motivated and the ability to manage time and prioritise effort
  • Industry experience with a working understanding of the electrical network and relevant work practices, policies and standards
  • Financial acumen including the ability to interpret financial data and reports. Utilise project knowledge to accurately budget and forecast expenditure and productivity
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
