Job summary

PCR Talent is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects in Canberra and surrounding regions. You will serve as the central contact between client, engineering teams, consultants, contractors, councils and other authorities.

Role involves planning through procurement, construction and completion, with responsibilities spanning budgeting, schedules, risk management and contract administration.

Qualifications

• Strong project management experience across civil infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Managing civil infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion.
• Delivering urban development, roads, highways and stormwater projects.
• Establishing project programs, budgets, scopes and delivery strategies.
• Coordinating design consultants, contractors and specialist subconsultants.
• Managing council, authority and stakeholder approvals.
• Preparing procurement documentation and assisting with tender processes.
• Administering contracts and monitoring contractor performance.
• Chairing client, consultant, contractor and site meetings.
• Monitoring project progress, costs, risks, quality and compliance.
• Undertaking site inspections and resolving construction-related issues.
• Preparing project reports, risk registers and progress updates.
• Identifying potential delays or commercial issues before they affect delivery.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take responsibility for delivering a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects throughout Canberra and the surrounding region.

Joining a highly regarded engineering and project management consultancy, you will work across urban development, roads, highways, stormwater drainage and associated infrastructure projects for government and private-sector clients.

The role requires someone who understands how civil projects are delivered from the early planning and design stages through procurement, construction and final completion. You will be the central point of contact between the client, engineering team, consultants, contractors, councils and other authorities.

You will ideally offer

• Strong project management experience across civil infrastructure
• Experience delivering urban development, roads, highways, drainage or related projects
• A relevant qualification in civil engineering, project management, construction management or a related discipline
• Good knowledge of project planning, procurement and contract administration
• Experience working directly with councils and approval authorities
• Confidence dealing with clients, consultants, contractors and construction teams
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets, programs and project risks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A practical, organised and accountable approach to project delivery
• The ability to manage several projects and competing priorities
• A current Australian's driver's license

This role would suit an established Senior Project Manager or an experienced Civil Engineer who has moved into project delivery and now wants greater responsibility across significant Canberra projects. Local or interstate applications are welcome
