The opportunity:

Due to a strong pipeline of committed work, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with project delivery and pre-contracts experience to join our Victorian team. You will provide commercial and tender negotiation advice, design development advice and budget and cost control advice across a variety of projects.

This role would ideally suit an experienced Senior Project Engineer or Construction Manager from a contractor / client-side background who is looking to apply their project delivery experience in a consulting environment across a range of major infrastructure projects in Australia and New Zealand.

You will:
  • Advise clients across tender programme development, constructability reviews, construction methodology, BOQ validation, subcontractor evaluation and risk and opportunity analysis
  • Establish efficient processes, ways of working and requirements to ensure effective project delivery, for both clients and delivery contractors
  • Co-ordinate inputs from multiple disciplines such as engineering, land, planning and environmental and communications & engagement
  • Support the development and review of project cost estimates and budgets, including quantities, construction methodology, productivity, resourcing and programme assumptions
  • Undertake detailed constructability reviews, identifying construction staging and sequencing, temporary works requirements, access constraints and programme optimisation opportunities
  • Participate in estimate reviews, challenging key assumptions, quantities, methodologies, productivity rates, risk allowances and programme inputs
  • Provide pre-construction support including programme development and logic review, integrating design, procurement, construction sequencing and subcontractor inputs
  • Support clients in the review and refinement of pre-construction management plans to ensure readiness for project delivery
  • Work with our bidding and tendering team on strategic pursuits for the business and grow our existing client base and break into new ones.
About you:
  • You have a degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • You have significant project delivery experience on major civil and power infrastructure projects, ideally gained with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
  • You have experience in commercial and tender negotiations and design development
  • You have experience in managing budget and cost control and have an understanding of cost and schedule drivers
  • You exercise sound commercial judgement, confidently challenging inputs, clarifying scope and testing assumptions
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide high-quality written and verbal advice to clients
