Job summary

Sedgman in Brisbane seeks a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical construction and commissioning on major mining projects.

Based in Brisbane with site travel, you will manage scopes, contracts, budgets and risk, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring delivery from construction through handover.

Qualifications

At Sedgman, we're delivering complex projects that support the resources sector, and we're seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our growing team.

Based in Brisbane, this role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of electrical project scopes across major projects in Victoria and the Northern Territory. You'll work closely with project managers, engineering teams, construction personnel and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and successfully from construction through to commissioning.

What You'll Do

• Lead the delivery of electrical construction and commissioning activities
• Manage electrical work packages and subcontractors throughout project execution
• Drive project performance across safety, quality, schedule and cost
• Lead contract administration, negotiation and commercial management activities
• Develop and maintain project forecasts, budgets and reporting requirements
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders
• Identify and manage project risks and delivery challenges
• Mentor and develop Project Engineers and site-based personnel
• Support successful project delivery from construction through commissioning and handover

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years' Project Engineering experience
• Experience delivering electrical scopes within mining, mineral processing, power generation or heavy industry environments
• Strong experience managing contractors and subcontractors
• Contract negotiation and contract management experience
• Cost control, forecasting and commercial management capability
• Demonstrated leadership experience within project delivery teams
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience delivering projects through construction and commissioning phases

Highly Regarded

• EPC or EPCM project delivery experience
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
• Commissioning and completions experience
