Job summary

AusNet is seeking an experienced Project Director to ensure safe, quality delivery of large-scale high-risk power infrastructure projects. You will guide end-to-end delivery, manage project teams, develop delivery strategies, and drive value, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across complex portfolios.

The role focuses on delivering projects valued from $100M+, with on-site leadership, and a strong emphasis on safety, environment, and community standards.

Qualifications

• Registered CPPD qualifications from AIPM or PMP® equivalent.
• Proven track record delivering large, high-value projects (> $100M).
• Portfolio management experience across multiple projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale power infrastructure projects.
• Manage a project team including project managers and engineers.
• Develop delivery strategies and support pre-contract development to produce competitive proposals.
• Lead assessment and management of project and network risks and opportunities.
• Provide insights into value engineering and lessons-learned for continuous improvement.
• Oversee commercial management and project outcomes with key parameters agreed at start.
• Manage project finance, procurement and materials.
• Coordinate with construction and commissioning workforce on-site.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships with internal, client and supplier partners.
• Develop and report lessons learned to improve delivery of projects.
• Implement tools and standards for smooth transition from construction to operations & maintenance.
