Job summary

NEXTDC, a leading ASX-listed data centre provider, is seeking a Project Director for Colocation Development in Sydney. You will own the delivery of major data centre developments, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring safety, on-time, on-budget delivery and high-quality outcomes.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will drive governance, stakeholder engagement, and commercial strategy across the full project lifecycle from design through handover, bringing extensive experience

Qualifications

• 15+ years leading and delivering large-scale, complex projects in data centres or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree in related fields.
• Strong leadership, commercial acumen, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of building codes and authority processes.
• Collaborative, proactive leadership in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety-first culture across design, construction and operations.
• Establish governance frameworks and manage risk.
• Direct budgets, cashflow, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Direct the development programme, optimise timelines and progress.
• Oversee design finalisation, authority approvals and compliance.
• Engage stakeholders with clear reporting and alignment to goals.
• Mentor teams and drive continuous improvement in design and cost methods.
