Job summary

NEXTDC is seeking a Services Manager to own the delivery and commissioning of critical equipment across our data centre projects, collaborating with principal contractors, service trades, vendors and our Engineering leads to ensure safe, on-time handovers.

This client-side, hands-on role emphasizes safety, program and quality from planning through to handover. If you enjoy complex builds with accountability in Australia's digital infrastructure, this is for you.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data centre or mission critical project or construction management.
• Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or trade qualifications in mechanical or electrical services installation.
• Project management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
• Sound knowledge of data centre design principles across power, cooling, space and IT infrastructure, plus Tier III/IV and Data Centre commissioning.
• Confident leading multidisciplinary teams of contractors, vendors and consulting engineers, with strong communication and relationship building skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing installation and commissioning plans, detailed programand project phasing strategies.
• Managing the principal contractor, service trades, equipment vendors and consultants through delivery, commissioning and handover.
• Leading safety across design, construction, commissioning and operation, eliminating and engineering out hazards as the first measure.
• Identifying and managing risk to the services installation ahead of programor cost impact.
• Working with cost and commercial managers on commissioning strategy, contract negotiation and vendor procurement and selection.
• Implementing quality control, defect management and site inspections, and ensuring compliance with NEXTDC and customer commissioning acceptance processes.
