NSW Health Infrastructure – Sydney CBD NSW
Health Infrastructure is looking for a senior cost and commercial leader to help shape how NSW Health plans, tests and manages the cost of its major capital infrastructure program.
As Senior Project Director, Cost & Commercial Advisory, you will lead a specialist function that brings greater confidence, consistency and transparency to project cost planning and commercial decision-making. You will work across a diverse pipeline of health infrastructure projects, advising the Executive Leadership Team and project teams on cost, affordability, escalation, contingency, market conditions, scope and commercial risk.
This is a rare opportunity to move beyond delivery of a single project and influence cost and commercial practice across an entire capital program. You will guide the development of practical standards, assurance processes, benchmarking approaches, cost data, reporting tools and technology-enabled improvements that help teams make better decisions earlier.
The work is challenging, visible and highly practical: helping project teams test assumptions, understand cost drivers, manage commercial risk and improve the quality of advice that informs major investment decisions for health facilities across NSW.
This is a 12-month contract role. Remuneration will be determined with the successful candidate.
Please note that as Health Infrastructure is an organisation of NSW Health, the successful applicant must reside in NSW or be willing to relocate if appointed.
This recruitment may be used to appoint to similar future roles (ongoing or temporary), or to create a Talent Pool for roles that may arise over the next 18 months.

You are a senior cost, commercial or quantity surveying professional who enjoys working at the point where technical detail, commercial judgement and strategic decision-making come together. You will bring significant experience in major infrastructure, construction or capital project environments, ideally with a strong background in health services facilities.
You are credible with senior stakeholders, confident testing assumptions, and able to turn complex cost and commercial information into clear advice that supports action. You will be comfortable leading a specialist advisory function, developing people, influencing across a matrix organisation and building trusted relationships with project teams, consultants, industry partners and executives.
You will be motivated by the chance to build capability across a program: strengthening cost management frameworks, improving benchmarking and assurance, lifting reporting quality and helping project teams navigate commercial complexity with confidence.
