The successful candidate will have a tertiary Mine Engineering qualification and prior open pit mining and contractor management experience, with a strong commitment

Responsibilities

• Fulfil Quarry Manager responsibilities under Mines Regulations 2022.

• Ensure contractors are supervised and train personnel per obligations.
• Plan and monitor short-, mid-, and long-term mine production within budget.
• Maintain mining production data and generate required reports.
• Contribute to mine optimisation, designs and scheduling.

Image Resources is a growing mineral sands producer and is currently operating a highly successful mine and processing facility at its 100%-owned, high-grade, zircon-rich flagship Atlas mineral sands project, located approximately 2.5 hours north of Perth near the picturesque towns of Jurien Bay and Cervantes in Western Australia.

The Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Production Engineer/Alternate Senior Site Executive to join the Atlas Mine Site team. This role offers a driven and motivated Mining Engineer the chance to progress into a Senior Engineering position, or enables an experienced Senior Engineer to apply their expertise while enhancing their leadership capabilities

This position will encompass the responsibilities of the Quarry Manager and Alternate Senior Site Executive, in addition to executing short-term mining plans, designs, and schedules to optimise production.

You will be responsible to:

• Fulfil the requirements of the appointed site Quarry Manager - Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
• Fulfil the requirements of the Alternate Senior Site Executive on an as required basis - Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
• Daily inspections of the mine site to ensure compliance under the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 and actively ensure any non-compliance is corrected.
• Ensure the Contractor is providing appropriate supervision and training to their employees to ensure they are compliant against their health safety and environment obligations.
• Ensure daily, weekly and monthly plans are executed in line with budget / forecasts.
• Ensure all development works and projects carried out in accordance with the budget and costs are controlled and reported effectively.
• Regular appropriate interaction with other Technical Services personnel to minimise dilution and mineral loss.
• Maintain Mining production data and produce reports as required.
• Contribute to short and medium term mine optimisation planning, mine designs and scheduling for quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily activities.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Tertiary qualification in Mine Engineering or other related discipline.
• Previous experience in an open pit operational mining role – mineral sands experience preferable.
• Previous contractor management and supervision.
• Collaborative leadership style with strong communication, influence and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A strong commitment to safety, health, environment, people, community, and workplace diversity.

What’s on Offer

This will be a site-based DIDO role at the Atlas project in the Shire of Dandaragan, 2 ½ hours north of Perth and close to the coastal towns of Cervantes and Jurien Bay.

The roster will be8/6 staying in brand new camp accommodation facilities.

Candidates will be required to meet our pre-employment criteria which includes a medical, drug and alcohol screening, hold a valid motor vehicle driver’s license, and a valid National Police Clearance.
