The Role

Pantoro is seeking a suitably experienced and motivated individual for the position of Alternate Underground Manager. As the Alternate UG Manager you will be responsible for delivering technical services support across both planning and production for the mining operation safely, including oversight of the UG mining contractor. The role requires statutory supervision of the underground mine.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all planning and production tasks for the underground mine are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the plan.
• Management of day-to-day production activities
• Develop mine plans and schedules ranging from short term through to 3-Month and Life-of-Mine time horizons.
• Oversee the development and implementation of stoping designs.
• Review and improve standard processes and systems for mine planning and production.
• Ensure Contractor performance is in line with the contract and mine plan.
• Identify and complete mine infrastructure and optimisation projects as required.
• End of Month reporting
• Prepare annual budgets and monitor ongoing cost against approved budget.
• Ensure operating procedures remain fully aligned with effective risk management practices under the WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022
• Provide leadership through driving a just safety culture.

About You

• Degree qualified Mining Engineer or equivalent
• Strong preference for WA residents or willingness to relocate to WA.
• Previous experience with narrow vein underground gold mining and with contract mining operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of mine planning, up to Life of Mine
• Currently hold First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate
• Competent use of Datamine, VentSim software or similar
• Drivers’ License (manual).
• National Police Clearance

About the Project

The Norseman Gold Project is an exciting new development that includes the construction of a new 1 million tonne per annum processing plant and development of multiple large open pits and underground mines. A combination of new mines, cutbacks and underground mine extensions is now underway.

The project is 725km East of Perth and 200km south of Kalgoorlie.

The project has a current mineral Resource of 4.5M ounces with many of the defined resources open along strike and at depth. Existing mine life is approaching 10 years. Ongoing organic growth is expected with drill rigs focussed on Ore Reserve growth currently operating.
