Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Senior Product Owner to define the vision and roadmap for document management capabilities used across the Group. You will lead secure, scalable services that improve customer experiences and support transformation initiatives.

You will collaborate with technology and business teams to prioritise complex needs into measurable outcomes, while driving platform modernisation and continuous improvement in a cross-functional squad.

Qualifications

• Have demonstrated experience as a Senior Product Owner or in a comparable strategic product leadership role.
• Have led cross-functional agile squads delivering complex technology products or transformation initiatives.
• Can define compelling product visions, strategies, roadmaps, objectives, and measurable outcomes.
• Build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders across business, engineering, architecture, operations, and risk.
• Apply strong customer, commercial and risk judgement when balancing competing priorities.
• Use data, insights, automation, or artificial intelligence to identify opportunities and improve outcomes.
• Understand the importance of security, privacy, resilience, compliance, and controls by design.
• Create an inclusive team environment built on ownership, accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, objectives, and success measures.
• Lead product discovery, opportunity assessment, and prioritisation to maximise customer and business value.
• Partner with Engineering Managers, architects, and delivery teams to shape technology strategy and deliver end-to-end outcomes.
• Own and maintain the product backlog, balancing customer needs, commercial outcomes, risk obligations, and technical constraints.
• Influence stakeholders across business, technology, operations, architecture, risk, compliance, and privacy.
• Use data, customer insights, and experimentation to guide decisions and track product performance.
• Lead platform modernisation and continuous improvement across secure, resilient, and scalable services.
• Coach and empower the squad while maintaining accountability for production health, operational resilience, and product controls.
