Qualifications

• 6+ years delivering software professionally at scale.
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Own outcomes end to end for complex product problems with measurable business results.
• Build robust solutions across legacy and modern platforms with CI/CD and proper testing/monitoring.
• Drive discovery via user research, prototypes and technical spikes before scaling.
• Embed product thinking with hypothesis-driven delivery and outcome metrics.
• Coach Product Engineers on discovery, operating model behaviours and technical craft.
• Challenge the feature factory and propose outcome-based alternatives.
• Lead with AI, exploring agentic coding tools and safe AI-assisted development.

The role

This is a senior individual contributor role within the ANZ Engineering team, contributing to our US platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to work with US-based colleagues to lead complex initiatives with real autonomy, champion rapid, evidence-based learning, and coach other Product Engineers to work the same way. You won't just consume a prioritised backlog - what you learn will shape the roadmap.

What you'll do

• Own outcomes end to end. Lead delivery on complex product problems with clear accountability for measurable business results.

• Build robust solutions. Design and implement across our legacy and modern platforms, and release safely through CI/CD with the right testing, monitoring and operational follow-through.

• Drive discovery. Use user and problem research, prototypes and technical spikes to make clear go/no-go calls before scaling up.

• Embed product thinking. Bring hypothesis-driven delivery and outcome metrics into team rituals and stakeholder conversations.

• Coach and share. Mentor Product Engineers and peers on discovery, product operating model behaviours and technical craft; share reusable assets and patterns across teams.

• Challenge the feature factory. Call it out constructively and propose outcome-based alternatives.

• Lead with AI. Model productive use of agentic coding tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code), experiment with new technologies and agentic approaches, and help set standards for safe, effective AI-assisted development.

What you'll bring

• 6+ years delivering software professionally at scale, ideally in a fast-paced or evolving environment
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Willingness to work reasonable flexible cross-over hours with a US-based team to facilitate strong communication and collaboration
• Full Australian working rights
• Strong PHP and C# skills across Laravel and .NET Core / .NET 8+
• Hands-on, everyday proficiency with agentic AI coding assistants, and a solid grasp of agentic AI concepts and systematic solutions
• Hands-on experience with AWS (RDS, IAM, S3, ECS, Beanstalks, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with modern reactive front-end frameworks (especially Vue3) and JavaScript / TypeScript
• Experience designing and querying relational databases (Postgres, MySQL)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
• Experience in a product operating model organisation, or similar
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
