Job summary

Smart Communications is seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead design on SmartPATH, a messaging and orchestration product, within a distributed design group supporting a global B2B SaaS company. You’ll own end-to-end design for enterprise workflows, contribute to the shared design system, and mentor other designers, helping raise the bar on craft and process across the team.

This hybrid role is based in Australia with offices in Sydney and Canberra.

Qualifications

• Significant experience owning end-to-end product design in B2B/enterprise SaaS.
• Strong craft in interaction design, IA, wireframes, prototyping and visual design.
• Experience designing AI-enabled or data-driven experiences.
• User research and usability testing experience (qualitative & quantitative).
• Figma or equivalent design tool proficiency.
• Solid design systems understanding and scalable pattern usage.
• Mentoring or leading other designers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across time zones.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Experience with analytics to inform design decisions.
• Knowledge of CXM/ CCM or enterprise SaaS.
• Experience with Miro and Jira for collaboration.
• Experience designing for regulated industries (healthcare, banking, insurance).

Responsibilities

• Lead product design for SmartPATH from discovery through delivery with PM and engineering.
• Collaborate across products and platform level; evolve the shared design system.
• Assess usability and experience improvements backed by research and testing.
• Tackle complex design challenges, multi-journey flows and accessibility.
• Translate ambiguous problems into clear, usable enterprise designs.
• Design AI-enabled experiences and use AI-assisted design workflows daily.
• Mentor designers and support onboarding to tools, processes and systems.
• Present design decisions to stakeholders and evangelise design thinking.
• Contribute to sprint planning and agile delivery planning.
• Stay current with industry trends and bring practices back to Smart Communications.
