SA Water is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to partner with stakeholders across the business, providing expert process engineering advice and supporting wastewater treatment strategies. You will influence future treatment assets while prioritising safety, operational excellence and customer outcomes.

You are a technically capable professional with proactive planning, capable of solving complex challenges and driving continuous improvement through collaborative work across teams.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Engineering.
• Postgraduate qualifications in wastewater and recycled water treatment (highly regarded).
• Extensive experience in process engineering related to wastewater treatment, recycled water, biosolids management, and odour control.
• Strong understanding of wastewater conveyance, treatment processes, and waste disposal systems.
• Experience providing technical leadership and influencing multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to apply innovative technologies and research to practical engineering solutions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and specialist process engineering expertise across wastewater and recycled water treatment assets.
• Develop and maintain engineering design guidelines that promote consistency, standardisation, and efficient delivery of capital projects.
• Support the development of operational targets, processes, and standards that manage water quality risks and improve business performance.
• Ensure public health, environmental, and safety considerations are incorporated into treatment solutions and infrastructure design.
• Drive innovation by identifying and implementing emerging wastewater treatment and water reuse technologies.
• Contribute to future investment planning for wastewater treatment assets, considering growth, performance requirements, regulatory obligations, and emerging challenges.
• Lead the development of long-term process strategies for wastewater and recycled water treatment plants.
• Provide expert input into process optimisation initiatives to improve treatment performance, efficiency, and reliability.
