Job summary

Stantec in Sydney is seeking a Senior Process Engineer - Water Treatment to lead delivery of water and wastewater projects and mentor junior engineers. The role offers technical leadership across NSW with potential growth into management responsibilities.

You will coordinate with project teams, lead design activities from feasibility through detailed design, engage clients and contribute to business development while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Chemical, Process, environmental or related engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status (or progress toward it).
• Demonstrated water treatment design capability.
• Experience delivering design solutions in an engineering consultancy.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater assets and processes.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors.
• Advanced problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Strong report-writing and technical communication ability.

Responsibilities

• Project coordination with the Project Manager to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Lead and support process and technical engineering activities from planning to detailed design.
• Prepare proposals and maintain client relationships through clear communication.
• Coordinate inputs with colleagues across disciplines and business units.
• Ensure outputs meet safety requirements and project scope.
• Contribute to growth of water and wastewater design capability and client relationships.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to Graduate and Intermediate engineers.
• Support business development activities and bid/proposal work as required.
