Job summary

Coogee Chemicals in Queensland is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process engineering across a major chloride alkali operations site. You will champion process safety, drive capital and continuous improvement projects, and mentor diverse technical teams to optimise safety, reliability and performance.

You will report to the Plant Manager and contribute to delivering capital projects from feasibility through commissioning, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years in chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, mineral processing, or heavy industry.
• Strong process engineering and process safety management knowledge.
• Experience leading risk assessments (HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA).
• Proven project management delivering capital projects from feasibility to commissioning.
• Able to mentor and lead technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering leadership across manufacturing operations.
• Lead process safety initiatives and MOC activities.
• Guide engineering standards, compliance, and best practices.
• Coach engineers and operations staff to build capability.
• Drive troubleshooting and resolution of complex process issues.
• Lead capital and operational improvement projects from feasibility to commissioning.
• Develop business cases, scopes, budgets, schedules, and approvals.
