Job summary

Centurion Mine, owned and operated by Peabody Energy, seeks a Senior Process Engineer to drive ramp-up and optimisation of the CHPP. You’ll partner with operations to maximise plant performance, ensure safety, and deliver continuous improvement across processing and laboratory activities.

You will bring 5+ years in mineral processing/CHPP operations, strong engineering fundamentals, and a collaborative approach to work across multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic mining environment in Queensland.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience across mineral comminution, beneficiation and solid/liquid separation technologies.
• Strong CHPP operational and technical experience.
• Knowledge of production and maintenance management principles.
• Understanding of control systems and process optimisation techniques.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Uncompromising commitment to safety and risk management.
• A collaborative approach across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for ramp up and ongoing operation of the CHPP.
• Partner with operational teams to deliver coaching and technical guidance to improve plant efficiency.
• Oversee onsite laboratory activities to support operations safely and effectively.
• Identify, develop and implement process improvement initiatives across the CHPP.
• Monitor, analyse and report on plant performance and recovery outcomes.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate operational data and analysis.
• Evaluate operational risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, safety and operational excellence.
