Job summary

IXOM is seeking a Junior Process Engineer for our Botany manufacturing site in Sydney. The role supports safe and efficient operation of Chloralkali plants and offers hands‑on experience in a large-scale industrial environment.

You will work under the Technical Manager, gaining exposure to process engineering, plant operations, process safety and project delivery, with mentoring and professional development as part of the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Process Engineering.
• Graduate level up to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to operations teams.
• Conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Supporting alarm management and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Monitoring and reporting process performance.
• Assisting with shutdown planning and maintenance coordination.
• Supporting engineering projects from planning through to implementation.
• Updating and maintaining P&ID drawings.
• Participating in HAZOP studies and process safety activities.
• Managing quotations, purchase requests and contractor engagement activities.
