Job summary

Limber Recruitment is seeking experienced Senior Privacy and Information Lawyers for a secondment with a high profile Commonwealth Agency. The role offers $900 to $1400 daily rate including super, with initial secondment to May 2027 across Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney locations.

You will advise on Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), secrecy provisions, and privacy governance; act as a secondee to the in‑house legal team; engage with senior executives; and provide privacy and information law

Qualifications

• Current practising certificate and extensive Commonwealth government experience providing legal advice under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
• Australian citizenship and Baseline Security Clearance are required.

Responsibilities

• Work as a secondee within the Department’s in-house legal team.
• Provide advice to a wide range of client areas, including briefing senior executives.
• Advise on secrecy provisions.
• Assist with privacy assurance processes such as PTAs and PIAs.
• Provide privacy law legal advice.
• Advise on information and data exchanges, data sharing and governance.
• Offer general advice on privacy and information law.
