Job summary

Limber Pty is seeking a Senior Privacy and Information Lawyer on a baseline clearance secondment to a high-profile Commonwealth Agency in Canberra. The initial assignment runs to May 2027, with a daily rate of $900 to $1400 including superannuation.

Qualifications

• A current practising certificate.
• Extensive Commonwealth government experience providing legal advice under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
• Australian citizenship and Baseline Security Clearance are essential.

Senior Privacy and Information Lawyer - Baseline Clearance

Initial secondment to May 2027

We currently have a secondment opportunities available for experienced Senior Privacy and Information Lawyers within a high profile Commonwealth Agency. Ideal candidates will have skills and experience in advising on the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and secrecy provisions.

The Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to work as a secondee within the Department’s in-house legal team. High level stakeholder engagement skills are required as the successful candidate will be required to provide advice and assistance to a wide range of client areas, including briefing senior executives.

The secondee will be required to advise on:

• secrecy provisions;
• privacy assurance processes such as Privacy Threshold Assessments (PTAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs);
• privacy law legal advice;
• information and data exchanges, data sharing and governance (including third party data access arrangements and data matching); and
• general advice on privacy and information law.

The Requirements

A current practising certificate and extensive Commonwealth government experience providing legal advice under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) is essential.
