Job summary

AECOM Brisbane is expanding its Water Infrastructure team, delivering a secure 10-year pipeline of Australian water projects. The Principal Structural Engineer provides technical leadership, mentors engineers, and partners with clients to achieve sustainable outcomes across water and wastewater facilities.

The role involves leading the full lifecycle from bids and concept design through to detailed design and construction support, balancing quality with schedule and budget while expanding the

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural engineering, ideally within water infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery and mentoring teams.
• Strong knowledge of Australian structural design standards.
• Experience with SpaceGass and/or Strand7.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design solutions for water infrastructure projects.
• Lead technical delivery across the project lifecycle from bids to construction support.
• Balance technical quality, programme and budget with sound engineering judgement.
• Build relationships with clients and project teams providing technical guidance.
• Support business development through technical input and proposals.
• Mentor developing engineers and grow your technical profile.
