Job summary

AECOM in Sydney is recruiting for an experienced Power System Studies engineer to support the renewable energy transition. You will deliver load flow analyses, dynamic simulations, and system studies across wind, solar, BESS and hydro projects within our Energy practice.

Based in Sydney with hybrid work options, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to connect generation assets to transmission and distribution networks, while mentoring others and contributing to client proposals and

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience delivering Power System Studies or Grid Connection analyses.
• Experience across renewable assets (Wind, Solar PV, Hybrid, BESS).
• Proficient with power system tools (DigSilent PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD).
• Knowledge of Australian regulations across States or NZ standards preferred.
• Ability to coach and develop junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform load flow studies and dynamic power system analyses to support renewable energy projects.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on robust evidence to clients and projects.
• Contribute to proposals, budgets, and project planning for power system studies.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers in Power System disciplines.
