Job summary

WALGA is seeking an experienced emergency management professional to shape policy, advocacy and legislative reform across Western Australia. You’ll work with policy experts and member councils to drive sector-wide outcomes, focusing on bushfire and broader all-hazards policy while engaging with government entities and committees.

Qualifications

• Background in emergency management with policy, advocacy and legislative reform focus.
• Ability to translate complex issues into policy positions and evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience working with local government, government agencies or emergency management committees.

Responsibilities

• Influence the development of emergency management policies and submissions from inception to advocacy.
• Collaborate with WALGA policy experts to drive outcomes for local communities.
• Develop relationships with Member Councils, Government Agencies and other organisations to推动 positive change.
• Represent WALGA in policy forums and working groups to support evidence-based recommendations.
